- Test Mode


The best way to test a ClueTrail-file is to send it to yourself and walk around the trail. However sometimes that is not easy, so the app provides a TEST mode.

Putting ClueTrail in Test Mode

  • Open the ClueTrail app
  • Dial in TEST
  • A navigation panel will open at the bottom.
  • Now use ClueTrail like you would in play mode - accept you use the navigation panel instead of walking around

Opening / Starting a game

  • You start a game by opening a "ClueTrailFile". These may be sent to you via email or iMessage, or downloaded from the web, or AirDropped.
  • You may then see a scramble of symbols. These are the clues in binary.
  • To open with ClueTrail tap the (share icon).
  • Scroll right until you see (ClueTrail icon). Tap on it.

"Walking Around" in Test Mode

  • In the TEST mode the GPS is ignored. The app acts as if you started 100 meters south of the first clue.
  • Move north/south/east/west with by tapping the buttons of the navigation panel. Each time you tap, the app acts as if you walked 10 meters in that direction.
  • When you are done, close ClueTrail. The next time you open it, it will be in its normal mode.
