Collections of Scanned Historic Maps

New York Public Library
- The NYPL has scanned thousands of historic maps and made many of them available via their tile server:
- Visit the NYPL maps website. Find the map you want. Note the ID number
- Install the following in "Customize > Data Source"
  - Name: NYPL
  - Credit: NYPL
  - URL:http://maps.nypl.org/warper/maps/tile/{D}/{Z}/{X}/{Y}.png
- To use, enter the mapId in "Customize > Save & Tile Cache > Extra Data"
- Refresh with pull-down menu or ⌘R
- Every time you change the mapID you need to Refresh/⌘R
- Example:
  - Brooklyn - 1879
  - General webpage http://maps.nypl.org/warper/maps/27272
  - MapID: 27272
  - Tile Server: http://maps.nypl.org/warper/maps/tile/27272/{Z}/{X}/{Y}.png
  - Note: center and zoom in on Brooklyn
Mapjunction
- Same idea as the NYPL site above.
- Harder to extract the mapID
- Install the following in "Customize > Data Source"
